Docs · Using with ChatGPT

Use Dorinda with ChatGPT.

Add Dorinda to ChatGPT once as a custom MCP connector, authorize with your Dorinda account, then just ask in natural language. ChatGPT reads your record and grounds every answer in it — and stages anything it would send for your approval.

Three steps to connect

1

Add the Dorinda connector in ChatGPT

In ChatGPT, open Settings → Connectors and add a custom connector (you may need to turn on developer mode / custom connectors first). Name it Dorinda and paste the connector URL above (https://api.dorinda.ai/mcp). Custom connectors are available on the ChatGPT plans that support them; ChatGPT adds Dorinda as a set of tools it can call.

2

Authorize with your Dorinda account

ChatGPT opens a secure window to link your Dorinda account. Sign in and approve the consent — access is least-privilege and revocable anytime in Dorinda’s Settings → Integrations.

Authorize Dorinda
  • Read what you're tracking, your notes & people
  • Create & update the items you ask for
  • Stage external sends for your approval

3

Just ask, in natural language

That’s it. Ask ChatGPT to catch you up, track and follow up on what you own, or draft a reply — Dorinda remembers across chats and enforces your approval rules. To make it automatic every chat, create a ChatGPT Project (or a custom GPT) named “Dorinda” and turn the connector on for it.

ChatGPT — grounded in your Dorinda memory
Use Dorinda for this chat. What's waiting on me?

You have 3 open loops. The roof quote from Alvarez Roofing is overdue— you've been waiting 6 days. Want me to nudge them? I've drafted a follow-up for you to approve.

Example prompts for every major feature

Say these to ChatGPT once Dorinda is connected. It reads first, grounds its answer in your record, and never claims to be Dorinda — it just uses it.

Track something to done
Track getting the roof quote by Friday, and follow up with the contractor if I haven’t heard back.
Dorinda opens a closed loop with a clear “done when,” tracks who you’re waiting on, and keeps following up until it’s closed.
See what needs you
What’s waiting on me right now? What’s at risk this week?
Your AI reads your record first and answers from it — overdue, due-soon, at-risk, and your open loops, grounded in what Dorinda actually knows.
Follow up & approve an email
Follow up with Sam about the invoice — draft the reply and let me approve it before anything sends.
External sends are gated. The AI stages the draft; you approve or decline right in the chat. Nothing leaves your account without your yes.
Calendar & prep
What’s on my calendar tomorrow, and what should I prep for the 10am?
With your Google or Outlook Calendar connected, Dorinda pulls your schedule so your AI can prep you and flag what’s at risk.
Reminders that don’t quit
Remind me every morning until I actually do it — and don’t stop after one ping.
Reminders persist and escalate until the loop is actually closed — not a single ping that’s gone by tomorrow. No nagging, no shame; if one ping were enough, you’d have done it already.
Household (Family plan)
Take on the campsite permits for our household and share it with Jordan.
On Family, shared items land in the Household; role and shared-vs-private scoping decide who sees what.

Works the same in Claude — paste the same connector URL, authorize, and ask. See Using Dorinda with Claude. The screens just look like the app you’re in.
